5 Movies That Tricked Me With Their Trailers!

5 Movies That Tricked Me With Their Trailers!

I love going to movie theaters! Who doesn't? Well...I do know a few people that hate it.

They're weird.

But, the magic of sitting in a theater with a good movie, popcorn, and surround sound is simply divine. I have a little quirk. If the movie starts at 8 o'clock, we absolutely NEED to be there at least 15 minutes early to catch the movie trailers.

I refuse to miss even one!

But sometimes those movie trailers are just so darn awesome that I mark my calendar to see the movie...just to find out I was tricked, duped, practically trolled. Here are my picks for the 5 movies that had superb movie trailers, and let me down.

1. Cowboys VS Aliens

Come on! Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell? I saw him wake up and activate that wrist bracelet technology, and thought, "Yes! I must see this!"
What could go wrong? So very much, unfortunately.

2. IFrankenstein

Again, Aaron Eckhart is AMAZING. But what in the world did they do to the movie and plot he's immersed in? Seriously, I was so disappointed.

3. The Fountain

What...the...heck? It felt like hours and hours of waiting for something remarkable to happen. It never did. Never.

4. Cloud Atlas

Let me tell you what my friend's mom said after we left the theater. "Wow. I thought that would never end."
My thoughts exactly, ma'am. There were some beautiful scenes, but I counted at least 5 times I thought the climatic scene to tie it all together was going to happen...and it didn't...and the movie just kept going, and going, and...

5. Battle: Los Angeles

Aaron, we meet again. It's nice having you here, but why in the universe is this movie so awful? Why?

5. Godzilla 2014

Don't judge me. I really thought it was going to be good. /sigh

Honorable mentions from my Facebook friends and fans:
1. Divergent (Wait, would you hate me if I said I liked the movie better than the book? Still, I said I'd add fan un-favorites.)

2. The Rum Diaries

3. Watchmen (The scene when Dr. Manhattan transforms might redeem this movie...a little bit)

This...is kinda awesome.

4. The Green Lantern (Wait, this should be in my top 5 too)

5. Bridge to Terabithia (Lured me in with fantasy, dashed my hopes with the death of a little girl.) Oh, hello there Peeta.

Next time I'll share the top 10 movies that totally surprised me with their awesomeness. Can't wait!

Go Now! Top 5 Movies of the Summer

Top 5 movies to go see RIGHT NOW!!

Man of Steel
From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures comes "Man of Steel," starring Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, under the direction of Zack Snyder ("300,""Watchmen"). The film also stars three-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Oscar® nominee Laurence Fishburne as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Starring as Clark Kent's adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Oscar® nominee Diane Lane and Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner. Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Oscar® nominee Michael Shannon, and Faora, Zod's evil partner, played by Antje Traue. Also from Superman's native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman's mother, played by Ayelet Zurer, and Superman's father, Jor-El, portrayed by Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe.

The Conjuring
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

Pacific Rim
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
World War Z
When former U.N. investigator Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) and his family get stuck in urban gridlock, he senses that it's no ordinary traffic jam. His suspicions are confirmed when, suddenly, the city erupts into chaos. A lethal virus, spread through a single bite, is turning healthy people into something vicious, unthinking and feral. As the pandemic threatens to consume humanity, Gerry leads a worldwide search to find the source of the infection and, with luck, a way to halt its spread.

Despicable Me 2

Now that Gru (Steve Carell) has forsaken a life of crime to raise Margo, Agnes and Edith, he's trying to figure out how to provide for his new family. As he struggles with his responsibilities as a father, the Anti-Villain League -- an organization dedicated to fighting evil -- comes calling. The AVL sends Gru on a mission to capture the perpetrator of a spectacular heist, for who would be better than the world's greatest ex-villain to capture the individual who seeks to usurp his power.

Evil Dead

Five friends return to a family cabin to help their friend detox. Little do they know that only a short while ago a ceremony was performed to exorcise a young girl of a demon. Unfortunately, they left behind the book that summons the demon once again. Even more unfortunately, one of the friends, the teacher, is too curious to let the book go unread, thus releasing the demon upon their poor detoxing friend.

All right. This looks familiar, and I didn't expect to enjoy this movie...but I did! It had all of the same elements of every cabin in the creepy woods movie I've ever seen, but it was very well done. I can't think of anyone that can out do Jane Levy! This girl makes a face that will strike fear into your heart. She fully commits and gives us a grimy, horrifying, performance that'll keep your stomach in knots the entire time.

The standout characters for me were, Jane Levy (of course) and Lou Taylor Pucci. The others were ok, but not as committed to their roles. Nonetheless, I was completely engrossed in this film. Every gory scene was perfect and it definitely makes you believe that there is evil in that cabin.

You won't be disappointed. Watch it now!
